Design Engineer

Our client is a very well established automotive supplier in beautiful Port Huron-They are a warm, family owned company that greatly values its employees.
The are looking for a design engineer with a mechanical engineering background and a strong interest in automotive component engineering.
They will consider an entry level grad who has a demonstrated passion for the automotive industry, as long as they have a background in mechanical engineering.
A degree is not mandatory.

The PositionDesign EngineerResponsibilitiesAnalyze working environments, product specifications, and performance requirements to develop optimized spring assembly designs that can be produced utilizing existing manufacturing methods.
The primary objective is to ensure that new products are optimally designed especially in regards to function, cost, and manufacturing capability.
Prepare detailed drawings for submission to customersChampion the design gate review process- Maintain project file for each part number quotedCore participant in organization's research and development effortsBe a leader with respect to furthering our knowledge of spring design and the respective raw materials, and improving our internal design practices, with the aim of increasing our spring design capability as an organization.
The objective is to become a spring pack design expertResponsible for championing and proactively pursuing continuous improvement projects, as well as involvement with special manufacturing projects or as needed within the organizationWillingness to travelRequirementsEssentialCAD experience (SolidWorks)FEA experienceFamiliar with GD&TDOE experienceAutomotive industry experience (or strong interest)Salary:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
